Podiatrist



Podiatry is a health profession concerned with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the foot and lower limb.

 

These conditions include bone and joint disorders, soft-tissue injuries resulting from activity, neurological and circulatory diseases as well as skin and nail disorders of the feet.

Podiatrists also perform minor surgical procedures of the skin and nails of the foot under local anaesthetic.

 

To become a podiatrist a practitioner must complete a 4 year Bachelor Degree and be registered with their State Podiatry Board.
